Terms of use
Effective 30 October 2026.
The app
Stem Mapper is provided free of charge for forest inventory and research. You may use it for any lawful purpose, including commercial work. The data you measure and enter is yours.
Measurements
The app measures with a phone's LiDAR and reports how well each measurement fitted the tree. Measurements can be wrong, and the app shows its work so that you can judge each one. You are responsible for checking the measurements you rely on. The app is not a substitute for a tape where a tape reading is required by a regulation, a contract or a standard.
No warranty
The app and this site are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any loss arising from their use, including decisions made on the basis of measurements.
Hosted services
Plot hosting and sharing on this site are provided free. Plots you set to link-only or public are visible to anyone with the link or, for public plots, to anyone using the site map; you are responsible for what you publish. The Pro plan adds GIS export; its subscription terms for private forestry use will be presented before purchase. The publisher may suspend hosting for abuse, and will give notice on this site before withdrawing the service.
